💡 Today's Lesson
JUEVES 26:
💡 Today's lesson: revise Unit
LUNES 23:
💡 Answers of act. 4, 5 and 6, p.89
4. Both use heat to evaporate liquid – in evaporation the vapour dissipates, whereas in distillation it is collected.
5. Decantation, evaporation, filtration, magnetic separation (depending on the material); Magnetic separation; Decantation, distillation
6. Your own answers.
💡Today's Lesson:
VIERNES 20:
💡 Answers of act. 1, 2 and 3, p.89
1. The scrap metal and recycling industry; mining industries
2. Yes/No (Your own answer).
3. Examples: washing machines, dishwashers, coffee machines, vacuum cleaners, air conditioning systems, etc.
💡Today's Lesson:
SEPARATING MIXTURES
Review p. 88 and read p. 89
Review p. 88 and read p. 89
EVAPORATION
DISTILLATION
MIÉRCOLES 18:
💡Answers of activities p. 87
1. Physical changes can include melting, freezing, crushing, cutting, chopping, etc. Chemical changes include combustion, oxidation and fermentation. The main characteristic is that physical changes do not alter composition of the substance, but chemical changes do.
2. Oxygen; heat and light
3. Rust is produced on oxidised metal, which we can see and feel.
4. Bacteria or fungi and sugars (carbohydrates). Carbon dioxide is produced. It breaks down plant and animal matter in the process of decomposition.
5. Fermented products: beer, yoghurt, cheese, wine.
💡Today's Lesson:
SEPARATING MIXTURES p. 88
SEPARATING MIXTURES p. 88
💡Let's see three ways of separating substances:
MAGNETIC SEPARATION
DECANTATION
FILTRATION
💡CAN YOU TRY ANY OF THESE PROCESS AT HOME?
(We will continue with Evaporation and Distillation in the next lesson)
(We will continue with Evaporation and Distillation in the next lesson)
💡Do p.89 activities 1, 2 and 3.
LUNES 16:
Repasar con el siguiente video:
Leer CHEMICAL CHANGES p. 86 y 87.
